There are many reasons for this, but what I am to bring up in this blog has a bigger impact on your overall health than you might believe.

But you consider yourself healthy with good exercise habits and eating. The information in this blog can still make a huge difference.

It is so easy to forget to drink enough water during the day. But changing those habits it's not only easy, but It also has great benefits.

Water is good for your overall health for many different reasons. If we consider that the body is made of 60-70% of water without drinking water, it will work on its own resources.

We need water to lubricate all the tissues and organs. If we don't drink enough water, we will become dehydrated here are some signs of dehydration that you want to avoid.

  • Increased thirst
  • being tired or sleepy
  • dry mouth
  • bad breath
  • decreased urine output
  • headache
  • dry skin
  • Dizziness
  • constipation
  • digestive issues
  • joint pain

People, in general, are probably dehydrated from time to time, and it makes a huge impact on your health and everyday well-being. Maybe you are constantly tired and irritated, or you have digestive disorders, which often are medicated and make people feel even worse.

Many experiences increasing headaches and some even dizziness. Many also get increased joint pain, and as a solution, they start taking painkillers to get through the day. When all this happened to me, I started getting seriously worried that this was the way it would be for the rest of my life, and this was the start of being older.

But I wanted to know more and started to search for more information.

It was really mind-blowing reading. Was it that simple to increase your health? And could it really help me with my problems? The answer was, Yes! It did for me!!

People, aren't aware of this and don't get enough daily intake of water. How much each person should drink daily varies from person to person, and of other things like temperature, activity level, man or women and so on.

But a role of thumb is about 8 cups a day was what I found in the literature. But to be more sure I recommend you do some research.

Why is it important to drink water

It supports Vital functions and plays a key role in digestion, cellular metabolism and detoxifying and alkalizing the body.

It supports circulation, transports nutrients in the body and produces saliva. So it simply makes sure all your body's functions are on top. Not drinking enough causes your body experiences an imbalance of fluids. Your muscles will tell you, first of all, with fatigue.

If you do exercise, it is of utmost importance to increase your water intake to make sure your muscles can do what you ask them during your workout. Start with an extra water intake before exercise and some during and after.

For some people, it works out best before and after, not during exercise, and I guess that depends from person to person and what kind of exercise you do.

In the throat, mouth and nose are mucous membranes provided with antibodies that fight viruses that you can get into you through food or the air you breathe. If you do not drink enough, the mucous membranes dry out and become more susceptible to infections, which can lead to throat flux and colds.

Your kidneys

are your body's detox system that you should take care of.

People with kidney disease need to drink more water to protect the kidneys and restore their function. So you understand it is important to help the kidneys with enough water to be able to rinse out the waste products by transporting them to the bladder.

With a lack of water in this process, there is an increased risk that minerals within these fluids crystallize into clumps and form kidney stones. So this could be a reminder if you have concentrated urine, you probably don't drink enough.

Digestion and Circulation

Digestion issues are not a pleasant state. This really stressed me out. Imagine your stomach becomes like a big balloon, you have gasses, and it is something you really want to avoid among other people.

Of course, this is not only due to lack of water, but there are also many other reasons. For me, it was a mix of lack of water and too much heavy food.

Anyways, water ease digestion in the colon and make sure everything keeps moving through your body as it is supposed to do and to avoid constipation.

It might be a help when you wish to lose some weight by preventing you from overeating. Try it out and drink water before your meal. It makes you feel satiety.

Good for your joints

The cartilage and discs, for example, contain 80 % of water. When the body is well hydrated, it keeps your cartilage soft and supple. This will help the joints to function properly.

Of course, it also depends on many other factors, such as overweight and activity level and muscle mass or lack of muscle mass, among other things. But if you do have joint problems, why not make sure you are hydrated? It will anyway\'s give you all the other advantages

Clears your skin

Consider your skin is getting dry, and when you get older, your dry skin wrinkles easier. If you drink enough water, you lubricate the skin, which can help prevent skin from ageing in the same manner. It doesn't reverse the ageing process but can help to improve your skin's overall clarity and appearance. Toxins build up in your body and cause inflammation. This often results in redness, dullness, dehydration of the skin and often acne.

Drinking water helps to flush these toxins out of your system and keep your skin balanced from the inside and out.

This is really interesting. Considering many of us have focused on different skincare products, this should be one of them!

It helps your brain function

Proper hydration provides mental benefits. You feel more alert, and you have a more clear mind. When dehydration occurs, it affects sodium & electrolyte levels in your body. This has been linked to cognitive changes such as Impaired working memory, Increased anxiety, headaches, and general fatigue.

What about caffeine?

All my coffee-drinking lifetime, I heard Coffee dries out the body. Just recently, I read an article that said this is a myth. It has long been debated whether coffee and tea are fluid and negative for health.

What I found when it comes to opinions v.s science has coffee and tea have mainly positive effects on health. The body forms extra urine when consuming caffeine, but the intake of fluid exceeds that exerted when consuming coffee. Thus, you do not have to worry about caffeine's possible liquid-driving effects because it is consumed in the form of coffee unless coffee makes you jittery. Then, you've probably consumed too much.

What I also found is that Caffeine is one of the few supplements that has been scientifically proven to increase performance. Caffeine (trimethylxanthine) is a bioactive substance that acts as a stimulant, makes you more alert, and increases your ability to concentrate.

I hope you found this interesting - And if you already are good at drinking water, you probably feel even better now if you weren't aware of all the benefits. And for you, who knows, you are bad at drinking. Get new habits. Get a bottle and decide to drink it during the day. Some people say they can't drink plain water, put some lemon in it or drink it warm instead of cold. Good Luck with your water intake!
